difference between the american style russian blue and the australian

Ok for starters, Elise goes in for her keyhole spay operation on the 12th!! only a week or so after that and she can come live with me!!!!

On to the real reason im writing this particular post. . . why are the American Rusian Blues so very different from the Australian ones? Is it due to the outcrossing to the Siamese after the WWII? If so why arent the Australian Russians similarly fine boned? Did we use a different outcross to keep the Russian breed alive after the near extinction of it? if so what was it? Looking at a lot of the Russian Blue videos on Youtube, i see Americans posting that "This can't possibly be a Russian Blue, it is too heavy and look at its head it must be a Brittish short hair, or even more amusing a Chartreux, as far as i can tell we dont even have that particular breed in Australia, especially in such abundance that it is allowed to roam willy nilly and breed randomly, any responsible breeder doesnt even let their cats outside, let alone sell an Entire kitten to an irresponsible "pro-kitteh freedomer" on the contrary most of the breeders i have researched WILL NOT  sell a cat to a household where it might be allowed outside.

I digress, does anyone know what the outcross the Australian Russian Blue breeders used to keep this amazing breed alive? If they do I would love to know. I love the look of both American and Australian Russians, but i would like to know how an Australian bred Blue would fare on the American or even the Japanese (as they too are rather fine boned and small of head) show circut? Or vice versa? I know our breeders do import and export the breed so they must be shown and bred in the differing show circuts.

I think this is a Platina Luna Picture.

First Post EVER

Ok as of today it is about 18 days till i get little Elise home!! she will be being shipped here from Debbie Macaulay in Campbeltown, of Jendayicats cattery. I love thats its called shipping when you are using a plane. . . and cargo on a ship, go figure!
I am stupidly excited about getting her home and starting on the show circut, my fiance is not too happy about the amount of money i have spent on a cat but i let him buy a car so he had to let me buy myslef one!

As you can see from the title, she is a russian blue, pedigreed and with papers, her mother is DB GD CH ANOU NADHA all those letters at the begining mean she is not only a grand champion show cat but she has had at least 5 (?) of her kittens become champions as well. (this is somthing i have read and interpreted from a site explaining the prefixes, i could be wrong) her sire is CH AMESHA BLU RUSSKI the ch meaning he is a Champion in the show ring, as you can see she has an excellent chance at becoming a champion in the show ring her self!
I have been trying to read every peice of information I can find on the internet, i am so excited about going to a show for the first time and want to make sure i have everything i need, the curtains for the cage the cat is to be kept in before and after judging, i cant wait to meet all the other breeders and cat lovers. well thats it for taday, still excited! lol
